Psychology Today: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists

Psychology Today’s Therapy Directory lists clinical professionals, psychiatrists and treatment centers who provide mental health services in the US and internationally.

It sounds (and may look) simple, but the mechanism through which the directory does its magic–accurately displaying local providers through search–is the sum of years of tech design and programming. Our goal is to constantly improve the service for potential clients, so they can be shown–as simply as possible–the alternatives open to them in their time of need.

The integrity of Psychology Today’s Therapy Directory relies upon its professional membership. Professionals pay a fixed monthly fee to participate. Everyone pays the same. We do all we can to maintain accurate information while allowing professionals themselves to control their own content and to display it without fear or favor.

Psychology Today’s Therapy Directory is run here by the team at Sussex Directories. We also have successful professional directories in the health field, with thousands of members, as well as publishing the national magazine, Psychology Today.

There are real people working here and we’re always eager to help. We know that the Internet can sometimes be frustrating and impersonal and so we do everything we can to help demystify it and make it more approachable.

Latinx Therapy was founded in 2018 with the mission to destigmatize mental health in the Latinx community. Since then, we have expanded to become a bilingual podcast and national directory to find a Latinx Therapist (98% of our directory are Spanish speakers). Latinx Therapy strives to provides culturally-grounded workshops and services to our community.

Donated funds will be allocated not only towards being able to afford our center during COVID-19 so we can continue providing sliding scale therapy, but also for our national projects, scholarships and podcast production dues to help us keep it going!

We have big plans and just need some help for our operations during COVID.

Asian, Pacific Islander, and South Asian American (APISAA) Therapist Directory: https://www.asianmhc.org/apisaa

Mission: It is the mission of the Asian Mental Health Collective to normalize and de-stigmatize mental health within the Asian community.

Vision: The Asian Mental Health Collective aspires to make mental health easily available, approachable, and accessible to Asian communities worldwide.

Purpose: With the rapid development of and focus on personal well-being in individualistic societies, people are now more aware of the detrimental effects of poor mental health and mental illnesses than ever before. However, as members of the Asian Diaspora, there are often strong cultural underpinnings related to our mental health experiences that go unaddressed. Mental health issues do not exist in individuals only, and this is especially true for those who come from cultures that value collectivism. Experiences shaped by cultural ideals that value face, achievement, and filial piety are interwoven in the fabric of our understanding of the world. Intertwined with generations of exposure to trauma, these ideals, while not inherently unhealthy, are often expressed in ways that create dissonance for the children of the diaspora who live in increasingly globalized societies. It is apparent that there is a generational and cultural rift in many Asian families, with mental health woven through both overt confrontations and unspoken grievances as a result.
